Junkyard Band
Students will use “junk” in creative ways to make different types of instruments. Students will learn about stringed instruments, wind instruments, rhythm instruments and more. They will also learn how to use the instruments they creative to work together musically.

Beginning Martial Arts Camp
Students will learn the fundamentals of using martial arts for self-defense, including spacing, circling, shuffling, and evading. Students will learn how to make themselves ready for an attack, how to position their bodies to remain balanced and protected, and how to block and counter a simple attack. This class is appropriate for both boys and girls!

Little Lions Martial Arts Class
Campers will learn about Stranger Danger as well as how to deal with bullying without getting hurt and without hurting others. Students will use their imaginations to get a taste of what it would be like to have been a ninja or a samurai warrior. Students will work with padded nunchuks and learn basic self-defense movements and tactics.

Set Design
Students will spend a day working together on designs for the Haunted Barnyard and then work together the rest of the week to develop props and set elements to actually be used in the haunt in October. Students will learn about lighting and sound effects while they develop their concept. Students will then spend 2 days working on their set design at Cornstalk Farms.

Create Your Own Play
Students will work together to create a play by creatively coming up with a plot, characters, and a setting for their play. Students will learn the basics of storytelling through their experiences at this camp, while working on cooperation and communication with fellow students.

Martial Arts Intensive
This camp is appropriate to students who are entirely new to martial arts as well as students who have previous experience in martial arts. This camp is designed to condition students to perform evasive movements as well as sweeps and jumps. Basic blocking, punching, and kicking will also be addressed. This camp will help students develop speed, coordination, balance and awareness.

Tai Chi for Kids
What is Tai Chi? Tai Chi is a style of Kung Fu that combines some imagination with self-defense techniques, which is perfect for kids! Tai Chi is said to have miraculous healing benefits for people who use it daily. Kids will use Tai Chi to tell a story, while learning powerful self-defense techniques, developing balance, coordination, concentration, and flexibility. This is a great introductory class for kids interested in learning Kung Fu or Tae Kwondo!

Making Mosaics
Students will learn about all different kinds of mosaics that they can make using a variety of different materials in a variety of different projects appropriate to their age. Martial Arts Special Topics Camp
This camp will explore weaponry common to a variety of martial arts, exercises in flexibility and balance, as well as exercises in awareness. Students will practice forward rolls as well as backward and side rolls, cartwheels, handstands, and other special techniques used particularly in the Chinese Martial Art form known as Wu Shu.

Three Dimensional Art
Students will learn about materials they’ve likely never worked with before, such as latex, epoxy, spray foam, chicken wire, and cement as well as clay and plaster of paris to create an artistic piece in three dimensions. Students will do a mask-making project, a set-design project, a lawn ornament, and more in this camp.
